Our Story
As long-time fans of the NJ cover band scene, UNORIGINAL saw that many bands were playing the same songs in the same way. We decided that something had to be done to shake things up. UNORIGINAL was conceived as a result in 2004 and from our first live show, definitely shook things up. One year later, UNORIGINAL competed in a battle of the cover bands at the famed Junkyard in Rochelle Park, NJ, beating out 15 other bands to take 1st place and further cementing our place on the cover scene! After a short hiatus of changing diapers, UNORIGINAL decided the time was right to make a comeback. We kicked it off with our entry into the Shannon Rose Battle of the Cover Band Contest in 2010. We finished in 2nd place, futher enhancing our reputation.
UNORIGINAL has built a steady and loyal following since then, and a mailing list comprised of over 1500 fans. Comprised of Mike on vocals, Shaun on drums, Chot on bass and Bill on guitar, UNORIGINAL is a cover band that knows how to put on a show you soon wont forget. An UNORIGINAL show can be best described as one big party, defined by crowd interaction and an eclectic playlist that showcases their talent and keeps the crowd singing and begging for more!
